ANA’s Stanford Stockdale visits with Talk Radio One host Steven Spierer about the positive influence that military schools can have on young men as it teaches discipline, teamwork and leadership.
Located just off the shores of beautiful Carlsbad, California, the Army and Navy Academy provides a structured environment for young boys to transform into well respected men by teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and personal discipline. Being the only military school in California, the Academy attracts cadets from all over the Golden state. However, it is also sought out by many young men from other parts of the country and even some from around the globe.
The Army and Navy Academy not only assists in the integral development of young men, but also offers a top notch educational curriculum tailored for middle school and high school ages. Their program offers upper level, advanced placement courses and also is designed with university entrance exams in mind to adequately prepare cadets for a collegiate level of study. With a small student-teacher ratio, cadets reap the benefits brought by personalized interaction with their instructors, which typically results in the vast majority of Army and Navy Academy graduates entering the college of their choice. Additionally, the JORTC program yearly awards up to three of its senior members with a nomination to a top military university, much like the Air Force Academy and even West Point.
Army Navy Academy allows cadets to advance in all aspects of life through a variety of opportunities, including:
By promoting discipline, structure and leadership, the Army and Navy Academy continually strives to encourage the personal growth of each cadet. Since 1910, the Academy has developed traditions that have been experienced by thousands of alumni and continue to be passed on to young men who will carry these values with them for the rest of their lives.
